When we travel, I sometimes like to make a short video to keep as a souvenir along with all the vacation photos. This one will give you an idea of some of the sights and activities we enjoyed in New York. And, if you're interested, you can check out a video I made last year of a fun day trip Ryan and I took to the very charming Columbus, Indiana. Find it here.

Our Wedding Film
I'm very excited to finally share our wedding video with you. Studio Z did a lovely job capturing so many beautiful moments and editing them together to fit perfectly with music. I've watched this a few times in the last couple days, and I still tear up each time as I remember so vividly the emotions I felt on that day. Marrying my best friend was the best thing I've ever done, and I'm grateful to have this film to help us remember all those special moments for the rest of our lives.
I hope you enjoy this gimps at our wedding day.

Our Day Trip to Columbus, Indiana - the Video
Those of you who are regular readers know that I've been experimenting with video blogging for the last few months. I enjoy video as an alternative way of telling a story, and I like learning new crafts and challenging myself. So far, I've just done a few tutorials (my first one, a green-smoothie recipe seen here, a glitter-shoe tutorial seen here, and a painted antler tutorial seen here).
None is perfect, but I try new things each time and enjoy learning as I go. Last weekend, I branched out from tutorials for the first time, deciding to document a bit of our afternoon in Columbus, Indiana. I was taking lots of pictures that day too, and I thought it would be fun to do a post of pictures (you can see it here if you haven't already) as well as a video post.
I hope you enjoy it!

DI(fr)Yday: How to Make Metallic Color-Block Hand-Painted Antlers

At our wedding, I'm going to have people sit at one long rectangular table, beer garden style. Instead of classic flower centerpieces, I'm going to have an evergreen garland running the length of the table which will also be strewn with these mason jar votives and hand-painted antlers.
These antlers would make great accent pieces for your home, too.

I'm having a lot of fun challenging myself to make video tutorials. I hope you like this one. And, if you haven't seen the others yet, they are here and here.

DI(fr)Yday: How to Make Miu Miu-Inspired Glitter and Suede Shoes
Like everyone else in the blogosphere, I exploded with gushy love over Miu Miu's glitter and suede shoes from the A/W 2011 shows. Since then, I've considered buying a used pair on eBay multiple times, exhaustively searched the Internet for a good knockoff pair, and brainstormed how best to DIY a pair.
The main problem with most knockoffs and DIY concepts was that they didn't include the amazing curved heel shape, which is one of my favorite things about the shoes.
Then, I found this pair from Target, which, though not a direct Miu Miu knockoff, features the curved heel shape I love so much. I decided they would make the perfect base for a DIY.

Recipe video: How to make a whole fruit green smoothie
One of my birthday goals this year was to do more video blogging in a serious and artful way. I've done some simple all-in-one-take videos in the past, but I don't want to do any more of those. They feel lazy and they don't stretch my creativity of give me a chance to learn new skills.
I've been thinking about what kinds of subjects might make good videos for the blog, and taking inspiration from really beautifully filmed tutorials like this recipe one (truly a work of art!) and this DIY one (shows so much personality!)
When I saw this skincare advice video made by fellow blogger Alexandra of To Vogue or Bust and read what she shared about wanting to do more video blogging but being a bit scared (a sentiment I echo wholeheartedly), it really gave me the kick in the pants I needed to just take the first step.
Even if my first videos weren't perfect, I would learn along the way, just like I've learned (and continue to learn) everything else I know about blogging.
So here's my first step. I hope you enjoy it! Feedback is always appreciated. Thanks, loves!

Video blogging: a couple quick late-night thoughts
I hope you all enjoyed the what's-in-my-bag video post I did. I actually recorded in a while ago but uploading it was another issue. Basically, Blogger's uploader is shit so I ended up using Facebook's.
I enjoy making videos for you and I want to do more soon. I think it's a good format for tutorials and closet tours. For now, here are a couple quick late-night thoughts...
What's in Kate Hudson's, Ginnifer Goodwin's, and my bags
So, Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin did this cute "what's in my bag" video for Marie Claire, and I thought it would be fun to do one of my own. Since I don't have a staff of editors, mine is (of course) much longer and more rambling, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. I even open up my goes-with-me-everywhere makeup bag and tell you about my must-have products.

Behind-the-scenes Natalie Portman's Vogue shoot
When it comes to fashion, I have always been super inspired by ballet. I even created a set on polyvore inspired by the new film, Black Swan. If you love ballet fashion too, check out this awesome behind-the-scenes video of the shoot Natalie Portman did for Vogue, also inspired by the film, Black Swan. But hurry; it'll be up for a limited time.

My first how-to tutorial
I just made my first ever how to tutorial and submitted it to Threadbanger. It shows how to make a kitchen-sink scarf, which is my idea and design, and is a great project for experienced knitters and beginners a like. Please check it out and let me know what you think. More tutorials to come.

How to Make a Skirt From Two Mens' Shirts
I've recently become obsessed with ThreadBanger, and this tutorial was particularly inspirational.
After watching it last night, I went to Goodwill today (where everything happened to be 50% off -- just my luck) and bought 24 shirts in complimentary colors. I made one skirt today (will post a pic soon) and plan on making many more in the next couple days.
