I've always been a fan of peplums, so I'm excited that they're all over the place right now. In fact, between peplums, pastels, and digital-image prints, there are so many trends for spring that I've been obsessed with for a while now. It's a good time to be a fashion lover.
Peplums can be affixed to the tops of skirts, or the bottoms of tops, and, of course, you'll find them on dresses also. However you wear them, they add a bit of feminine whimsy, which is soooooo my favorite thing.
If you're discouraged by the idea of adding flouncy fabric to your mid-section, rest assured that peplums can be quite flattering, because -- just as A-line skirts do -- they emphasize the narrowness of a waist by comparison. Just make sure you pair a peplum top with a pencil skirt of tight-fitting pants rather than adding an additional layer of ruffles with a flouncy skirt.
Oh, and do you like these pearls paired with the white polkadots? I thought it would be fun to echo their shape and color with my jewelry.
