Inspired by this lovely piece that I found on Pinterest, I decided to try my own hand at creating an XO wreath for Valentine's Day. Here's is a tutorial for the method I came up with. Enjoy! Oh, and make sure to post a link if you make one yourself.
You will need:
- Four silk-flower garlands in Valentine's colors. I chose two pink, one red and one white.
- Scissors
- Floral wire
- Ribbon
Step 1. Cut each garland into four equal lengths.
Step 2. Using the floral wire, secure four lengths together at both ends and in the middle. Secure another four strands in the same way. These will make up the X. I used pink for this part.
Step 3. Crossing these pieces together, wire their middles together in the back, allowing the flowers to cover your work, to create a cross shape.
Step 4. Using the floral wire to secure pieces together, shape the remaining pieces into a wreath shape that is four garlands thick. I used red and white mixed together for this part.
Step 5. Wire the bottom corners of the X to the top of the wreath shape.
Step 6. Tie a ribbon to the top of the wreath.
I came across your blog from Tiffany (Breakfast at Tiffany's) and am so glad I did! This DIY is absolutely adorable- what a cute, fun post!
