I love mint green with a pop of cherry red. Paired with black, I've got a bit of an Andes Mint color palette going on here, and I can't say that's a bad thing.
While mint green is hands-down my favorite color, I don't own a lot of mint green clothing, mostly because it's not a very common shade for clothing to be produced in. However, with this spring's pastel trend, it's popping up more and more, and I plan to take full advantage.
As for the fact that I'm wearing this cardigan backward: it's something I've been doing for a while since my grandmother told me it was "all the rage" when she was in high school (back in the early 1940s). I thought it was such a cute idea, and I really like how the buttons up the back come off as a subtle, unexpected detail. Lately, I've seen some other bloggers doing it (including Sian in her guest post here). Isn't it amazing how a trend can pop up, disappear, and pop up again? What makes that happen?
Even though the initial inspiration was from the 1940s, I think the overall feel of this outfit--with its figure hugging sweater and cropped cigarette pants--is quite 1960s.
Cropped black cigarette pants - Gap
Mint green cardigan (worn backward) - J.Crew
Turquoise bangle and skull bracelets - souvenir from Mexico (also seen here)
Nut and leather bracelet - made by me (tutorial coming soon)
Chunky ring - YSL
I love all your bracelets and how you painted your 4th fingernails red, and the backwards cardigan is a really interesting idea, and looks surprisingly good!
