Pink and green together is a favorite color combination of mine, and I think all shades of pink and green work well together. When I was a little girl, my mother ordered some tulips from a bulb catalog that had pink and green petals. They were amazing, and I've been kind of obsessed ever since. I used to draw pink and green tulips in the gardens of all the houses I drew (why do all kids like to draw houses?), and I'd draw the bulb under the soil too.
This shirt was a gift for me from a shop in Japan when I was an exchange student (in 2003, the year I turned 15). The back of it says, "In my heart it looks like rain," but I think the motif is whimsical and more cheerful than sad. Plus it always reminds me of Japan and how rainy it is there and the crowded streets of Tokyo packed with commuters, a sea of umbrellas.
