Again, please don't hate me for my amazing employee discount at Anthro (and our sister stores Urban Outfitters and Free People), but it made me feel totally justified in indulging my love of open backs, buttons, and pockets, with this pretty, figure-skimming number. (It's called the "Era Plume Dress" for all you Anthroholics out there, who want to Google-image-stalk various stylings of it.)
As much as the details (open back, buttons down the back, POCKETS!) are totally up my ally, the warm color palette and the abstract print are a bit out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to push myself a little bit. When you have about 80 dresses, there's room to go out of your comfort zone, wouldn't you agree. Gosh, I try and try to wear more separates, but I'm still such a dress-loving girl at heart.
The funny thing is, though, that I found accessorizing the warm tones to be surprisingly easy. I had several pairs of shoes, belts, and bits and bobs of jewelry that would have worked equally well. In fact, you may well see them all soon as I suspect I'll be wanting to wear the dress again in the very near future.

Yes! I recently found some old photos of myself at about 6 or 7 and I'm wearing the same style Minnetonkas in them. Some things never change!!! :)
