What I wore today: 03/14/2012 (Ryan's Shirt)

If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have noticed I was soaking up the rays in downtown Cincinnati's fountain square yesterday, and enjoying the fact that it was warm enough for both Starbucks iced passion tea and sandals.

I do think there's something so classically sexy about a woman in a man's shirt. I borrowed Ryan's yesterday, tucking it into a vintage shirt that had a fitted waist to temper the oversized bulkiness of it, and I felt great all day.

Part of that was also the lovely sunny weather we had. Spring has announced itself with vigor, showing up one day as clear and sunny skies, the next as a thunderstorm. But that's spring for you. I'm just glad it's here.

What I wore today: 03/13/2012 (Crossing Guard)

This neon belt and satchel are getting even more use than I thought they would (see also here and here). Ryan said I reminded him of a crossing guard... but in a cute way.

I haven't worn this dress (an old thrift-store find) in a long time, and I have no idea why not because I felt so comfortable in it today.

As for the Prada sunnies, they're new. I got them with a few saved-up Amazon gift cards. Aren't they lovely? I've been swooning over them for a while.

What I wore today: 03/10/2012 (Baby Shower)

My sister-in-law's shower was Saturday. Since she's expecting a boy, I wanted to incorporate a few "somethings blue" into my outfit.

The moccasins are thrifted and I love them, not least of which because they are literally blue suede shoes. The belt, also thrifted, has a longhorn buckle which reminds me of my dad's alma mater. (More on the belt and Texas here). The blue ring was made by me earlier this week. (Tutorial here).

What I wore today: 03/09/2012 (Lavender Mint)

I love pastels for spring. I can't remember the last time I was as excited about a trend. I've always been a big-time pastel person. As a kid, I loved easter because I usually got to pick out a new pastel dress to wear. Also, you may remember me gushing about this Philispohy di Alberta Ferretti collection last year in all its pastel glory.

However, one thing I'm a big fan of, that I haven't seen much, is paring pastels with black and white. The soft colors against the sharp contrast is just so nice, don't you think?

So, I layered my new BDG jeans with an old sweater and some black and white classics: vintage saddle oxfords and a striped tank from the Gap. Also, note the black and white pendant I made. It's a reference to Amélie.
