What I wore today: 03/13/2012 (Crossing Guard)

This neon belt and satchel are getting even more use than I thought they would (see also here and here). Ryan said I reminded him of a crossing guard... but in a cute way.

I haven't worn this dress (an old thrift-store find) in a long time, and I have no idea why not because I felt so comfortable in it today.

As for the Prada sunnies, they're new. I got them with a few saved-up Amazon gift cards. Aren't they lovely? I've been swooning over them for a while.

What I wore today 11/19/2011 (The "new length")

This dress is new and I love it. It actually has little slits on the sides to reveal bits of skin, but today it's far too cold for that, so I layered it over a t-shirt instead.

Combining the dress with my Missoni for Target t-shirt just sort of happened this morning, and I'm really pleased with the mix. It kind of seems like these patterns together could induce seizures doesn't it? Maybe I should be careful.

I've been pretty obsessed with what their's calling the "new length" for a while now. It's like the equivalent of bracelet length sleeves for your legs, and I love how coy it is.

I saw Keira Knightly in this incredible Roksanda Ilincic dress just a few days before I found this dress on Urban Outfitter.com, so I couldn't help by be reminded. The dresses have very different attitudes, but both are black and white, the new length, and have a bit of a peek-a-boo thing going on, so I feel like there's a bit of a nod to my inspiration here.

What I wore today 10/31/2011 (All Hallow's Eve)

Since Saturday was for costumes, I showed my Halloween spirit today in street clothes.

For some reason, braids have always seemed quite witchy to me. Maybe it has to do with The Worst Witch or even Wednesday Adams, but they all feel appropriate for Halloween.

What I wore today 10/03/2011 (Cropped tee and '70s jeans)

I watched the '70s-inspired challenge episode of Project Runway today (off TiVo) and so of course I had to wear these jeans.

The t-shirt is from the thrift shop. I was super excited when I found it, because Summer Heights High is actually not a real high school at all but a fictional school from the self-titled Australian TV show. I absolutely adored that show and burgundy is a favorite color of mine, so I had to have the tee.

I originally cut it with the plan of making it into a mini skirt by adding a waistband and turning the sleeves into pockets. But, then I realized that I loved it as a crop top.
