When searching for an apartment, we knew we needed a second bedroom to house all my books (hey, some are Ryan's too - that squat little shelf in the middle) and my clothing, and to give us more space in general.
The shape of this room is a bit weird, with double doors hiding the closet and only partially obscuring the furnace. Ryan was the brains behind figuring out how to place my clothing racks and shelves so that they would hide the furnace and allow the room to take a more natural shape. He also figured out that he could hide Auggie's litter box back by the furnace where no one would ever see it, but where Auggie could easily access it by walking under my hanging clothes.
Like the kitchen, this room has little decoration because it is mostly about function. That said, I wanted my clothing and my books to be on display, acting themselves as a kind of decoration.
