As I promised I would back when we first moved, I've finally taken photos to share a full home tour with all of you. All of the photos were taken over the holidays so that you can see our decorations.
As a reader, I really love when bloggers do home tours, so I hope you enjoy sneaking a peek into my world.
This week is going to be fully dedicated to my home tour. I'll be sharing a new room each day, starting with the main space, the living room.
In an ideal world, this room would have more empty space. I wouldn't store a bike behind the sofa, Ryan would have more space to jump around when he plays guitar, and I could scoot my chair back from my desk without hitting the back of the sofa. But, that's apartment living for you!
We put a lot of thought into the organization of this room, and I think we did a good job of fitting everything in while keeping the space functional. Our breakthrough was the decision to place the sofa on an angle. Everything just fell into place after that.
The high ceilings do a lot to help to make the space feel bigger and lighter, especially when emphasized with long floor-to ceiling curtains. I made these right after we moved in. They are my pride and joy. They aren't the most difficult DIY I've ever made by a long shot, but they might be the most valuable to me because they really help pull this multi-purpose space together.

In addition to being our main living and entertainment space, this is also our office space. Ryan and I each have small wooden antique writing desks, and I really wanted to place them side by side somewhere in our home. This office corner, which started as a necessity, has grown into visually one of my favorite spots in our apartment. We each hung special things on the walls above our desks, and Ryan helped me hang crates for storing records and supporting my record player.
I love the way this corner shows our individual personalities, and the way the desks compliment each other.
