In
an NPR piece, Claire O'Neill says that "
A year before Lady Gaga's meat dress made its debut, Ted Sabarese had pioneered a project of similar food fashion." The idea was that models would pose clothed in whatever foods they were craving. Before you get too excited, let me say that the idea was not to make a statement about model starvation; quite the contrary, the goal was to show the relationship between people and food. Check out the photos. I think the artichoke dress might be my favorite, but the bread outfit is pretty sweet too (no pun intended), especially the challah sleeves and baguette headpiece.
