Valentine's Day recipe: red velvet brownies with cream cheese swirl

I made these gorgeous velvety bites for Super Bowl Sunday because I was in a particularly Valentine-y mood.

I used this recipe which I found on Pinterest ages ago. Making a red velvet version of a cream cheese brownie is such a brilliant idea because red velvet cake is essentially chocolate cake dyed red. And, since it's traditionally frosted with cream cheese frosting, the cream cheese swirl adds a nice touch.

These are like a simpler, denser, comforting version of the red velvet cake we all know and love.
