Later, I'll post photos of us at the party we're going to on Saturday. Picking out costumes as a couple can be more challenging than dressing up alone, but it can be a fun challenge I think. Last year Ryan and I were the Other Mother and the Other Father from Coraline, which was fun until I got a rash on my face from the spirit gum remover. It may be a while before I volunteer to glue things to my face again. It looked cool though.

Halloween Costumes!
I just bought my and Ryan's Halloween costumes. We're going to be Romans. I was going to make mine out of my white bathing-suit coverup, but decided that it was too revealing and not warm enough so I bought this one.
Michelle Obama in '60s-inspired dress
Looks like the first lady is a fan of the early '60s-inspired shape we're seeing in so many dresses this fall. I love the silhouette and that color looks incredible on her.

Visible-bra trend
The visible bra is becoming more and more prevalent in fashion, and I have to say that I like it. With this trend, there is definitely a fine line between classy and trashy, but as long as you stay on the right side of the line, you are good to go.
Some may say that it's inappropriate to show underwear, but to them I want to point out that the t-shirt was considered underwear (and inappropriate to show in public) until style leaders like James Dean broke the rules and therefor changed them.
The original sexy
So if you are ready to change the rules, consider taking part in this trent. Though allow me to remind you of the obvious: that like the t-shirt visible bras will probably never be a suitable look for the workplace. (Nothing fun ever is.) :(
Since my bosom is already big enough to catch a little more attention that I always want, I like to embrace this trend in a subtle way with a black bra under a sheer-ish t-shirt. Or, if I go more sheer with it, I add a blazer to keep the look smart. But if you as less well endowed, you can go a little bolder without looking promiscuous. Take your cues from Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes, who keeps this sexy trend looking demure, by pairing her visible bra with a longer skirt and boots. (Remember that it's always smart to show off either your bosom or your legs, never both in one look.) The ruffles down the front even add additional coverage.

Little WHITE dress: runway and the real way
Of course your beloved little black dress will always be there in your closet where you can reach for it when you need it, but for spring the little white dress takes center stage. Even in the colder months a white dress can look great with black tights under it.

Fall Trend: Mad Men on the runway
As you may have noticed, the popularity of the show Mad Men and of the hourglass figure it's star Christina Hendricks so beautifully embodies, are now inspiring looks on the runway. I particularly love the Louis Vuitton collection, where creative director, Marc Jacobs selected models with fuller chests and more curvy figures to fill out his bombshell designs. I give you 50s and 60s-inspired looks on the Fall-2010 Runway:

Fall trend: Camel (photo shoot)
Here are the photos Ryan took for my submission to Hypeed and Vogue.com's feature on the camel trend. I think they turned out pretty good.
